In a momentous reflection of the evolving societal ethos and the recognition of the pivotal role that women play in shaping the future, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University proudly presents its annual youth festival under the resounding title, "નારીશક્તિ વંદના"(Narishakti Vandna)." This distinctive appellation draws inspiration from the recently passed "Narishakti Vandna Bill" in the parliamentary corridors, symbolizing a collective salute to the strength, resilience, and empowerment of women.


The title encapsulates a profound homage to the feminine force, acknowledging the transformative power embedded within every woman. As the festival unfolds, it seeks to create a vibrant platform for the youth to celebrate, appreciate, and amplify the diverse contributions of women in various fields—be it academia, sports, arts, or social causes.


"Narishakti Vandna" transcends conventional festival themes, aiming to foster an environment where the inherent potential of women is not only acknowledged but celebrated with fervor. The festival endeavors to break stereotypes and challenge societal norms, emphasizing the need for gender equality and the empowerment of women as indispensable pillars of progress.

Kalayatra: Spotlighting Narishakti Vandna and Tackling Gender Inequality through  a walk"


In the  cultural celebrations at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, the annual Kalayatra stands out as a vibrant canvas where art, expression, and social messages converge. This year, the festival takes on a special significance with a series of performance that not only represent "Narishakti Vandna" but also address the pertinent issue of gender inequality.






Amidst the diverse lineup of performances the Department of English has crafted a compelling narrative that delves into the nuances of gender dynamics. The performance explores the journey of a young woman navigating societal expectations, breaking free from stereotypes, and ultimately emerging as a symbol of empowerment. The skit promises to be a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant experience, shedding light on the complexities surrounding gender roles and the transformative power of self-discovery.




The preparation  has been an intensive and collaborative effort within the Department of English. Students and faculty alike have invested time and creativity to ensure that the performance not only captivates the audience but also leaves a lasting impact. Rehearsals have been marked by passionate discussions on the themes of the performance. with participants collectively exploring ways to convey a nuanced and powerful message.

  • મોબાઈલ ની માયાજાળ માં માનવી(Man in the magic of mobile)



In a poignant exploration of contemporary societal concerns, one of the standout performances in this year's Kalayatra at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University is  "man in the magic of mobile" This thought-provoking tableux delves into the intricate and often perilous relationship between individuals and their smartphones, shedding light on the dangers of obsessive mobile phone use, particularly among the younger generation.


The performance unfolds as a series of interconnected scenes, each depicting a different facet of the web woven by mobile devices. The performance begins with lighthearted portrayals of individuals engrossed in their phones, navigating the virtual world with apparent ease. As the scenes progress, however, the narrative takes a darker turn, exposing the potential hazards associated with unchecked smartphone use.


A significant focus of the performance revolves around the dangerous trend of individuals risking their lives for the perfect social media photo. The performers portray scenarios where young people, consumed by the pursuit of likes and validation, engage in risky behaviors such as clicking photos at precarious heights or dangerous locations. The performance serves as a stark reminder of the tragic real-life incidents where individuals have lost their lives while attempting to capture daring stunts for online attention.


Another impactful segment of "Man in the magic of mobile" centers on the insensitivity that can arise from excessive smartphone use. The skit highlights instances where individuals, even in somber settings like funerals, remain absorbed in their mobile screens, seemingly detached from the gravity of the moment. This portrayal underscores the growing concern about the erosion of real-world connections and empathy in the face of virtual preoccupation.


  •  Nav durga(નવ દુર્ગા)





The stage comes alive with vibrant colors, intricate costumes, and evocative music as the performers seamlessly transition between the celestial realms inhabited by the diverse forms of the goddesses. 


The tableux begins with the invocation of Maa Shailaputri. The performance adorned in regal  setting the tone for the spiritual journey that unfolds. The audience is treated to the ethereal presence of goddesses such as Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, and Kushmanda. Each portrayal captures the essence of these deities. Skandamata and Katyayani, the warrior goddesses. The performers execute dynamic movements and gestures, embodying the power and fearlessness inherent in these divine forms. 
The depiction of goddesses Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. 


Beyond the artistic beauty, "Navadurga" serves as a platform for cultural exchange and understanding. By bringing to life the stories and attributes of the goddesses, the performance invites the audience to connect with the rich tapestry of Indian mythology, fostering a deeper appreciation for the cultural and spiritual heritage.

As the end "Navadurga" leaves an indelible impression, not just as a performance but as a reverent celebration of the divine feminine. Through this evocative portrayal, Kalayatra at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University continues its tradition of using the arts to explore the profound and timeless themes that unite humanity across cultures and generations.



  • Bharatayan




In an awe-inspiring visual journey, Kalayatra at  University presents "Bharatayan"  A tableux that pays tribute to India's remarkable achievements in space exploration. The stage has depict key milestones such as the launch of Aryabhata and the Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions.

The Tableux unfolds with symbolic representations of India's pioneering spirit in space, highlighting the nation's ascent from its initial satellite launch to contemporary feats. The emphasis is on visual storytelling, capturing the essence of rocket launches, scientific endeavors, and jubilant celebrations through a combination of artistic props and multimedia displays.

"Bharatayan" features iconic figures in India's space program, including Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, paying homage to their visionary leadership. The showcase serves as an educational and inspirational experience, instilling pride and admiration for India's technological prowess in the realm of space exploration.

This us  involved thorough research into India's space achievements, collaborative efforts in set design, and the creation of visually striking elements to narrate the nation's journey through space. The result is a performance that engages the audience in a visual spectacle, fostering a deep appreciation for India's contributions to space exploration.



  •  "वेद से वेग, भारत सर्वश्रेष्ठ" (From Vedas to Velocity, India at Its Best)





In a mesmerizing tableux titled "वेद से वेग, भारत सर्वश्रेष्ठ" (From Vedas to Velocity, India at Its Best), Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University takes the audience on an illuminating journey through time, bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern achievements. This extraordinary exhibition unfolds as a visual tapestry, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India while showcasing its prowess in contemporary advancements.


The tableux begins with a tribute to the ancient sages (Rishis) and the timeless wisdom encapsulated in the Vedas. Displays highlight the profound philosophical and scientific contributions of these sages, underscoring the roots of India's intellectual heritage.Moving through the corridors of time, the exhibit showcases India's historical contributions to science and mathematics.
The showcase then transitions to modern achievements, with a spotlight on India's remarkable progress in space exploration. Models and visuals illustrate key missions, including Mangalyaan, Chandrayaan.portraying India's prowess in space technology.The exhibit features a vibrant display capturing the evolution of information technology in India. From ancient methods of communication to the contemporary era of smartphones and laptops, the showcase reflects India's transformative journey in the digital .
